About

I was born in Minot, North Dakota and raised in the little town of Norwich, North Dakota. I graduated from Surrey High School in Surrey, North Dakota and was active in school activities. I played football, plus was involved in band, choir, and drama. I enjoy the North Dakota Class ‘B’ sports scene since I grew up with it. When not playing sports, I was the kid that dressed up in his school colors to cheer on his high school team.

I attended Minot State University graduating in 2013 with a bachelor’s degree in Broadcasting. I worked at Clear Channel Radio (now iHeartMedia) in Minot. Hired on while in high school in December of 2008, I worked almost 5 years doing various activities; DJing, newscasts, and interviews on 910 AM KCJB, and also did weekends on 97 Kicks FM. When Clear Channel needed a part-time sports play-by-play person, I jumped at the opportunity back in 2011.

After college, I worked at “The Mix” 1470 AM KHND in Harvey, North Dakota as the Sports Director from August 2013 thru February 2015 and covered all the Harvey-Wells County, Drake/Anamoose, and Benson County sports. I also helped out with production, sales, and had an afternoon on-air radio shift.

My next stop in radio was in Jamestown, North Dakota where I was the Sports Director for MIX 93.3 FM and AM 600 KSJB from March 2015 thru December 2016. I also hosted the morning show on MIX 93.3 and later the afternoon show on AM 600 KSJB.

Once my wife and I had our first child, we moved back home to Minot to be close to family. I then took a break from radio working as an Admissions Counselor at my alma mater, Minot State. While working at Minot State from January 2017 to April 2019, I traveled around the United States and Canada recruiting students for Minot State. During my time working at Minot State, I completed a master’s degree in sports management in May 2020.

I got called back to radio in April 2019 and took over the morning show on 910 AM KCJB for iHeartMedia. It was an honor hosting the mornings on KCJB that had many legendary voices throughout the station’s 80+ year history. During that time, I broadcasted local sports, maintained the six station websites and social media channels, and produced/voiced commercials for other iHeartMedia markets across the state and country.

I married the love of my life, Kelsey, in June 2014. We have one son and one daughter, plus a cat named Kooper. I enjoy watching the Chicago Bears, playing video games, and riding motorcycle. I have received awards during my broadcasting career that included merit and first place Eric Sevareid awards for play-by-play.
